Babol Medical School, which was established in 1983, now has 225 faculty members in clinical and basic sciences, providing the necessary training to more than 700 general medicine students. The faculty also has 15 specialized medical assistantships (with 276 students), 6 PhD courses (with 26 students) and 15 master's courses (with 310 students).

Now, it has 35 departments (covering basic and clinical sciences). It has an unrivalled number of 225 faculty members, and 7 hospitals are affiliated to the School. The school trains more than 700 students in over 36 postgraduate and medical programs.

The School has comprehensive programs on clinical sciences covering M.D. Residency (Specialty & Sub-specialty), and fellowship programs. It offers versatile graduate degrees (M.Sc., MPH & Ph.D.) in basic sciences as well. Faculty members are recognized as the leading clinicians and scientists of the country, not only in terms of didactic training but also in clinical skills transfer, role-modeling, and research mentoring.
