History

The School of Dentistry is one of the units of the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services of the Babol University of Medical Sciences, which is located in the south of the city and west of the campus of the Babol University of Medical Sciences. Admission of 35 students in 1372 AH began its official activity in the field of general dentistry doctorate and in 1377 AH it presented its first graduate course to the Islamic society, in addition to the dental nursing associate course in four courses during the years 1374, 1375, 1379 and 1380 AHand the field of oral and dental health was taught in one course in 1386 AH.

So far, 15 courses of graduates in general dentistry have graduated from this faculty. In addition to offering a general dentistry course, in 1386 AH, this faculty received the first specialized dental course in the field of periodontics, and in 1387 AH, it succeeded in obtaining a license in the field of radiology, restorative and endodontics. It should be mentioned that School of Dentistry has received permission to admit all dental specialties and assistant students are studying in all dental specialties.

Currently, this faculty has 62 full-time academic staffs for teaching dental doctoral students and assistants in various specialized dental courses.

Physical space

With about 11,077 square meters of teaching space, having dental supplies and equipment, using dental laboratories, dental clinics and classrooms equipped with audio-visual equipment, this faculty has facilities for training 237 students of general dentistry, 57 students Transitional and supplementary and has provided 77 residents of specialized departments. Currently, all information and various activities of the faculty are fully automated and computerized. For example, information related to admission and patient records (including services performed or radiography and cephalometry and other measures performed), information related to education and students and specialized residents (such as registration, units provided, units registered or passed and academic status, etc.), professors information (including profile, type of expertise, scientific activities, etc.), library (search for books, Persian and English articles and detailed theses) and research (report of research activities carried out or in the hands of various professors, students) and accounting and warehousing activities are all done with the desired accuracy and speed. On the other hand, the library, research department and IT are all located in the main building and are easily accessible to professors and students. In addition, access to Medline services is available in the library and IT department full time. The Faculty of Dentistry has encouraged the existence of an atmosphere of cooperation between all students, professors, and staff to provide an ideal educational environment for growth and improvement as much as possible. Obviously, under such conditions, students will be able to learn the necessary information to provide the best dental care to their patients using the best programs and educational methods available.

Research

Research activities have a special place in the list of priorities of the School of Dentistry. Students, specialized residents and faculty members of this school are continuously trying to carry out projects that most of these activities have led to significant innovations. The results of these researches have been published every year in the form of articles and posters in scientific congresses or in domestic and foreign publications.

Library

The School of Dentistry has provided one of the richest biomedical collections for the use of students and respected members of the academic staff, this collection has about 1383 Persian books, 1086 Latin books, 383 dental research theses, 10 Persian magazines and more than 22 journals. External and subscription of 3 newspaper titles.

Patient care

 School of Dentistry has been providing excellent quality dental care to patients for more than 16 years. Patient satisfaction is one of our most important goals. For this reason, students, residents and members of the faculty hope to be able to meet the needs of patients in the best possible way.

Treatment departments

In the various medical departments of this School, dental services are provided to patients by students and specialized residents under the supervision of professors. Also, this faculty, as a research educational center, declares its full readiness to provide all specialized dental services. The members of the academic staff of this faculty are among the most prominent people in the dental profession of the province, who monitor the treatment plan and treatment stages of the patients with great care and interest, and if necessary, they personally perform the treatment stages in this academic environment. With this highly experienced specialized staff, all the treatment needs of patients of any age and gender, from the simplest to the most complex services, can be provided in the best way.

Sterilization of dental equipment

  In order to comply with the principles of hygiene and health of the medical staff, employees and patients, all dental supplies are completely sterilized after each use. In addition, the sterilization steps are regularly controlled based on the latest standards.
